Captain Crazy:
I've been attendding Town council meetings for over 4 years pretty much alone. My sons and their friends have gone with me a few times.
Were now getting a new Bike Only park to add beside our skateboard only park. The skatepark will get a new 1/2 pipe to make it better also.
Apple Valley is 10 miles off the 15 fwy in calif. 90 mile from L. A. and 200 mile from Las vegas in the desert.
We want to push for concrete. The town has been dealing with ARC for now in the planning. at the last meeting we had Aaron from Spohn ranch add comments to our bike park trying to get it on it, to get it built with him.
We want concrete.
Specs on the situation:
Here's a break down of it all
- $400,000 for bike park.
We raise $100,000 and the town matches it with 300,000 to get to the $400,000 total.
- $150,000 to tear down old bathroom and relocate to another area.
Something the town was already planning to do REGARDLESS of the bike park issue.
- $50,000 for a half-pipe for the skaterboarder skatepark and to relocate the basketball area. ( No Mention of the skaters raising their funds.)
The council was thinking to have us fundraise for one of the options:
- For every $1 we raise, the town will match it with $3.
- Get some grants.
- Volunteers to help build and for local builders to help out with discount prices.
