BMX Track and Bowl in Berkeley, CA - Meeting May.11.09

East Bay riders are proposing a new track and concrete bowl at Cesar Chavez park.

Check out www.eastbaybmx.org. The gentleman who is getting this going is very motivated and wants an ABA BMX track and a BMX bikes-only bowl right next to one another at the 90 acre Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley. This is a perfect site with adequate parking and easy access off Interstate 80.

Park info can bee seen at: http://www.ci.berkeley.ca.us/ContentDisplay.aspx?id=12102

If you can make the time, please come to the meeting on Monday May 11, 2009 at 7 PM to show support for this very important project. North Berkeley Senior Center, 1901 Hearst Ave. The Park & Rec Commission is all ears because of the conflicts Park & Rec has with BMX bikes at the highly used Berkeley Skate Park. The Commission is looking for alternative locations for BMX bikes in their city.

Please forward this to all interested parties. It is crucial to get a good turnout at this meeting to show the City of Berkeley that the community needs this alternative to traditional sports.

Thanks,
Mark Headley
